There is no return while emiting a Call using IP phone 3905

Hello guys,

It's been a month that i've deployed VOIP in an enterprise in which i'm an intern. The achitecture is as follows:

- Fortigate firewall serves as a DHCP server.

- A CISCO router serves a TFTP server in which the CME version 10 is installed and configured. (It is connected to the fortigate)

- A Cisco SF200-24 ports switch is connected to the Firewall.

- Cisco IP phones 3905 connected to the switch.

The phones are in the same network as the computers but have static addresses.

Okay sorry for the long text but had to explain my architecture before jumping in my problem. When a caller emits a call he doesn't get the receivers voice unless he insists like twice before they could exchange fluently..

Can you please help me on this? Don't know what to do and this situation is really unconfortable for the users.

Most usually one-way/no audio are related to routing issues, have you looked into that??

Thanks for your reply,

Both Computers and Telephones are in the same LAN, was I supposed to do any routing?

Hi,

Like Jamie was pushing you towards

If your CME router is using more than ONE IP address IE more than ONE interface

You should bind SIP to one interface (ip address) only - something like this:-

voice service voip
 sip
  bind control source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0
  bind media source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0

Your phones must be able to IP route to and from that address
