Third party SIP phone and video calls

hi,

I configured a xlite SIP softphone version 4 on a PC with USB-video support. This phone I configured as Third Party SIP device Advanced in CUCM 8.6.

I can establish audio calls to any other phone at this CUCM, e.g. a 9971 IP phone.

But video calls doesn't work. If I call the 9971 with integrated Cisco USB camera, a normal audio call is established. Video doesn't start.

Video works proper at 9971 and xlite itself but not between this devices.

Cisco says I must used third party sip device advanced for video calls, but how it works?

Xlite use video codec H.263 and H.263+

Hello,

The issue you are running into is that the 9971 only support H.264 for video encoding and X-lite only support H.263. To get video between your CounterPath client and the 9971 you should look at upgrading to CounterPath Bria.
