I have UCM 8.x and I am trying to configure the option to transfer calls straight to a users VM instead of ringing the phone. I have done this in the past and it is a fairly straight forward setup but cannot seem to get it working now. I have the VM profile configured along with the CTI route point allowing this. Currently I can dial the 5 digit extension and ring the phone. I can transfer calls to the 5 digit extension. I can even dial the CTI route point and go straight to the users mailbox greeting but I cannot transfer to it.
Scenario:
User A has ext.12345
I can dial 12345 and it rings
I can transfer calls to 12345 and it rings then goes to VM.
I can dial *12345 and it goes straight to the users VM greeting
I cannot transfer a call to *12345
I can't understand why I can dial *12345 and it works but transfers fail.
Thanx in advance.

Hi there,
What do you get when you attempt these transfers? Reorder tone, busy, nothing, opening greeting?
What exact versions of Unity Connection and CUCM?
Cheers!

CM ver: 8.0.3.20000-2
Unity ver: 8.0.3.20000-18
There is nothing; it acts like it is waiting for another digit.
I have verfied route point dn is *XXXXX
Thanks,

Hi there,
If you wait long enough or press # after the *xxxx does it work? It almost
sounds like an IDT issue.
Cheers!

One thing I would check is the Calling Search Space under the Call Forward and Call Pickup section.

I have found that per Rob's suggestion that if I wait for 15 seconds the transfer will work.
Hmmm...I'm not sure why this is happening because all other direct transfers go through immediately with no delay.
Pressing the # only causes the transfer to disconnect.
Another thing I have found is that if I transfer to the full extension (we're using a translation down to 5 digit for internal calling) it works perfectly.
Thanks again.
