Our service provider has ported a published number to us. I was wondering which configuration is best practice. Do I configure the DN in CUCM to forward all calls or do I create a translation pattern that forwards all inbound calls to the number I want calls to terminate to. All calls to this particular number will originate externally.

I would set this up as a translation pattern. They are simpler to set up and troubleshoot and they work well in this scenario.
