Trying to connect a Jabra Biz 2400 II headset with a Jabra GN1216 phone adapter to my Cisco 7942 company phone

I am trying to connect a Jabra Biz 2400 II headset with a Jabra GN1216 phone adapter to my Cisco 7942 company phone. I have everything connected through to the headset jack on the phone and set the selector on the adapter to #3 as per the instructions. When I select the Headset button on the front of the phone, nothing works in the headset - I can hear a dial tone in the handset if I lift it so I know it's working. What am I missing?

Hi Anthony,

We don't use Jabra headsets but I do know that with Plantronics headsets the proper QD (quick disconnect cord) makes all the difference in the world. In your case the GN1216 is for use with Avaya phones and likely has the wrong pinout for use with the 7942. In both of the Jabra compatibility quides (attached links below) the cable needed for the Cisco 7942 is the GN1200;
