UC 4.1 upgrade to v8...

Guys, in the compatability matrix for CUCM v8 it shows the minimum supported IOS for the 2800 voice gateway is 15.1... Is this correct, so v 12.4 will not work with CUCM v8?

Is the 15.1 upgrade free to download or are new licenses required?

The compatibility matrix shows what Cisco has tested with CUCM 8.0.

IOS 12.4 will probably work with CUCM 8.0.

If you use for example a H.323 GW, H.323 is not dependent of the CUCM version.

When you use MGCP, CUCM will backhaul all the ISDN Q931 signaling and therefore MGCP is more dependent on CUCM.

The upgrade of a 2800 router to 15.1 doesn't require any specific license.

Only ISR2 routers (19xx, 29xx ...) requires a specific license.
