UCCX engine service shutdown

Level 1

I have UCCX 8.0.2.11005-20  and CUCM 8.0.3.20000-2 running on ESXI 4.1. bottom line is the uccx engine service would not start. If I restart the server I see manager manager go into inservice status and subsystem manager to partial service and that is as close as I get. Needless to say route point/port shows unknown is cucm. However the data check in cucm is good and jtapi reports good as well in uccx. I will appreciate any suggestions.

You need to pull the MIVR logs from UCCX and look for description of why it is failing, the log is pretty good for troubleshooting this type of an issue.

HTH,

Chris

I had pulled the traces but possibly due to my lack of experience with the product I am unable to determine the cause. I am attaching the traces. Hopefully someone can help me identify the cause.. Thanks.

This is the most evident source of the problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how to address this ?

I think there is an issue with UCCX8.0.2 on ESXI 4.1 on AMD Opteron hardware. As a workaround I installed UCCX8.0.2 on vmware workstation on an intel based laptop and all services are in inservice and cti ports and RP are registered.

So, I take it this is a lab environment?

AMD based processors have been known to cause issues with the Cisco apps.

HTH,

Chris
