An employee was recently termed and her line was forwarded to her manager. The calls are still completing to the original employee vm box not the intended target.
Do I need to delete the original employee's vm box in order for the calls to complete in the managers vm if not answered?

That is WAD, the default behavior is to choose the VM box based on the original called number.
You can delete the employees VM box, and configure his DN as an alternate number in the managers VM box.
