Hi,

ESW stands for Essential Service Operate and UCSS stands for Unified Communications Software Subscription. These were two different services: with ESW , customer was entitled for minor upgrades and TAC assistance.

with UCSS, customer could get major upgrades. Both these got end of Sale in Sep. 2014 and were combined into single offering under the name of SWSS[Software Support Services]

Hello Aman,

Is the below statement right or wrong
ESW – is Contract on which upgrade license can be issued
UCSS – is Contract on which on support is available but upgrade license can’t be issued.

Hi Vijay,

Both are contracts.

But with ESW , u can get only minor upgrades along with TAC assistance and not major upgrades.

If u have ESW, u won't be able to place order through PUT.

with UCSS, u can get major upgrades and TAC support for the upgraded version.
