Hi all,
I´m supporting voice for a customer and I have the following issue.
When I try to send a fax or make a call to fax number (RightFax numbers) starting with 303 - 209 - XXXX or 303 - 305 - XXXX, the fax document is not going through and fails. I captured the following in the voice gateway when I tried to send a fax from a fax number in Spain to one of the RightFax numbers:
DENvoIP.5#
3236282: .Oct 30 06:09:36.109 MDT: ISDN Se0/2/1:23 Q931: TX -> SETUP pd = 8 callref = 0x7774
Sending Complete

Standard = CCITT
Transfer Capability = Speech

Facility i = 0x9FAA06800100820100A1080201000201008400
Progress Ind i = 0x8283 - Origination address is non-ISDN
Calling Party Number i = 0x1183, '3491XXXXXXX'
Plan:ISDN, Type:International
Called Party Number i = 0x80, 'YYYY'
Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown
3236283: .Oct 30 06:09:36.169 MDT: ISDN Se0/2/1:23 Q931: RX <- CALL_PROC pd = 8 callref = 0xF774
Channel ID i = 0xA98397

3236284: .Oct 30 06:09:36.173 MDT: ISDN Se0/2/1:23 Q931: RX <- DISCONNECT pd = 8 callref = 0xF774
Cause i = 0x808180 - Unallocated/unassigned number
Where YYYY are the last 4 digits for a fax starting with 303 - 209. I know that cause i = 0x808180 is because the service provider is not able to find out the number you are trying to reach. But GW is only sending the last 4 digits number for the fax number instead of the whole number. GW should be sent 303209YYYY. Do you know what the issue is ? I´m guessing something in the translation patterns on CUCM or something in voice ports configuration in gateway. I attached you GW config and GW technical details. Please Help !!!
Thanks
Nacho

Hi Nacho,
can you please do a DNA for destination YYYY and post the result here?
Thanks

Ok...I found and interesting thing. Another way to call rightfax numbers is just simply dialing 303 209 or 303 305 from my softphone. This call is using another circuit from AT&T. The circuit is on DENvoip.6 and is Serial 0/1/0. I checked this in a debug and in a DNA:

I think I have to talk with AT&T asking why they are sending me only 4 digits for this circuit when I try to make a call to these rightfax numbers....Am I right or should check something else?
Thanks

Can you please check with your customer/colleagues if they can find mor info about rightfax location?
Also knowing the right fax ip address could be useful.
On DENvoip.6 can you please activate a debug voip dialpeer inout while calling a rightfax extension?
Thanks
Regards
Carlo

Meanwhile I´m trying to get this information (I think rightfax server is at Denver, the same location as CUCM), I activated debug voip dialpeer inout in DENvoip.6 and nothing is showed except this:

I don´t know why the call manager tries to do this call via 2 interfaces (Se0/1/0 and Se0/2/1) . Se0/2/1 was in ? status in endpoints in Call Manager but now it is registered.
I think the best way is having a webex session if you don´t mind. I will be available for the next 5 hours. Please send me a private message if you consider this. Any help from you guy will be very much appreciated.

Nacho

Hi Carlo,
Regarding this...
voice translation-rule 10
rule 1 /^5.../ /303209\0/
!
!
voice translation-profile CSC
translate called 10
Should I do the same for the rest of numbers (303 305).
Something like...
voice translation-rule 11
rule 1 /^..../ /303305\0/
voice translation-profile CSC
translate called 11
Just to include all the ranges...
Please let me know.
Thanks so much for your fantastic support.

Nacho

Hi Nacho.
Sorry but my laptop left me :)
No you can remove those translations were only for test.
All you have to do on your CUCM is configure route patterns to rightfax numbers pointin to the h323 gateway I have created.
Glad to help ... was a pleasure
Please don't forget to rate all useful posts sn mark as ansewred the one that solves your issue
Cheers

Hi again Carlo,
Issue is not solved at all...now I have this issue.
Imagine that 303 209 9999 is an existing rightfax number and 303 480 9999 is an existing ip phone registered in CUCM. Imagine that a RP has been created like this 9XXX pointing to RightFax h323 gateway you created. Well, when somebody tries to send a fax or call this number 303 209 9999, this call goes to ip phone 303 480 9999. How can I fix this? The only way I´m thinking tell the user change the extension number for other but this is weird. Should I make an specific TP? There is a TP like this 303XXXXXX with Partition "Phones PT" and CSS: "DEN Local CSS".
Please help me out on this again...very much appreciated.
Regards,
Nacho

Hi,
on DENVOIP.6 try to modify your dialpeer 2 in this way:
dial-peer voice 2 voip
translation-profile outgoing RightfaxOutboundServer
destination-pattern Y... (where Y is the first digit of 4 digits extension of rightfax)
session target ipv4:10.1.42.219
session transport udp
voice-class h323 1
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
codec g711ulaw
Let me know
Regards
Carlo

I dont understand why you are asking me to change Y where Y is the first digit of 4 digits extension of rightfax? I have a list of these numbers all of them starting with several numbers (5, 6 8...). Maybe instead of Y should i put 303 ? (all of the rightfxes are starting with 303) If yes, 303 and how many dots before?
Thanks
Nacho
11-02-2015 10:08 AM
I'm asking you that, because I want to understand how the call should land on RightFax in term of whic extension number and also to understand through what the call is routed to RightFax (SIP trunk , H323 Trunk.....)
Can you please post a screenshot of Device --> Gateway list on CUCM?
I guess the problem is on how CUCM should reach RF.
Many thanks
Carlo
