I have two UM Unity servers, integraded into AD. I would like to test a Dirt backup of one server, by restoring it on the other. Both servers are on the network. Are there any problems with this, maybe with AD sync after restore? thanks

Remember though, DIRT will not install to a already configured Unity server. It is mean to be restore to a clean running version of Unity. You can however, have the DIRT restore overwrite the existing Uity DB. It's called a Dirtyrestore. You can find out more info on this in the DIRT restore Help file.

Thanks for the info, very helpful. Question is how I would use one of the switches, would I run the command from a DOS prompt?

You can actually run it from the Start Run.
Read the help file, because this does blow away that Unity servers database you are restoring to.
Click on Start
Click on Run
Enter in: D:\CommServer\Utilities\DisasterRecoveryRestore\UnityDisasterRecoveryRESTORE.exe /dirtyrestore
Run at at the console (not in TS) and as Unityinstall or some admin account. I would not use unityadmin
