Unity Conn 8.5 errors with single inbox and Exchange 2010 SP1.

I’m setting up UC8.5 users for single inbox with Exchange 2010 and I've run into an issue.

When I test the setup of Unified Messaging Service for users I get the following errors.

Failed accessing doug@somewhere.com on X.X.X.X “Sorry need to protect my client identity”

Some possible reasons for 401: Incorrect service account name or password. Service account password expired. Proper permissions not granted to service account. Exchange mailbox uninitialized

I’ve uploaded the certificates specified in Unified Messaging guide and setup authentication via NTLM “windows authentication”.

Anyone else had this issue before?

Thanks All…

does it work if you uncheck "Validate Certificates for Exchange Servers " ?

are you using UPN user name under "Active Directory Account Used to Access Exchange" ?

Roman:

Thanks for your responce...

  • Since my certificates are self signed I did not check the box per 2-28 Step 9. I did try it with it checked same issue.
  • I used just the name and also tried with the UPN either way same result.

Any further ideas are appriciated...

Hi

Just setting up Exchange 2007 SP3 Rollup 4 with Unity 8.5 to use single inbox - getting the same errors as you are - did you manage to get a resolution to your issue? Would really appreciate a response either way.

Thanks

Matt

Mathew:

No sir. However, the issue was resolved when I did not use HTTPS and the associated certificates.

I’m very interested in knowing if you ever resolve the issue yourself.

Thanks

Yes - I just cracked it - very pleased with myself.

I use SSL without verifying the certificates.

I use basic authentication

I needed to specify the username for the AD account used to access Exchange in the format:

DOMAIN\Username - previously I was just using Username.

I also logged on to a windows machien as the username for the AD account used to access Exchange to verify that the password and username combination was correct.

I then went to my Unity user account and added a new unified messaging account using my corporate e-mail address and tested the account - all good.

Installed Cisco View Mail for Outlook 8.6 on my PC.

Then left a test voicemail on my phone and the voicemail appears in my inbox straight away :-)

Hope this helps you.
