How do I unmask a number so that when an external number is dialed the whole number shows.

You need to start by telling what you're using and version (CUCM/CME/etc)
You always need to provide such information when asking.

I am using CUCM 6.1.3 and currently need only one number to show when making external calls.
Thank you

Configure that number under the calling party transformation mask in the route pattern/route list you're using for outbound calls.

Would I need to configure anything on the router?

Hi,
There are many places where you can control the OUTGOING calling number CLI
On CUCM in your gateway you will see a section for OUTGOING calls
Look at this setting
In here you put bin the number to present to the PSTN for outgoing calls
In the UK this would be something like 015234561234
This is the LAST place on CUCM where you can make this calling number change.
You do not usually have to add any more config to the IOS router/gateway.
The caveat is that the number must belong to the line or group of lines you are calling out on as per your service providers set up.. So if you dont own this number you can not send it.
