Is there a way of doing a bulk import for a load of UPC profiles into Call Manager 6.0?

Hi

If you go to Bulk Admin/Phones/Phone Templates, do you see the Cisco Unified Personal Communicator as a device type?

If so, then you can create a template and do an upload created using the BAT spreadsheet to generate the specific records...

There is a template already set up within Bulk Admin/Phones/Phone Templates, just not sure the file needs to look like to do the import. What information needs to be there and in what order?

Hi

Go to Bulk Admin/Upload/Download files. Get the bat.xlt file.

On that, you can go to Phones tab.

Click 'create file format', and then basically add the fields that you want to assign that are unique per-user (anything standard should be configured on the template).

Mandatory fields include the Device Name (i.e. UPCJOHN) and description (which you don't need to fill in, but it does needs to be in the CSV).

I would add at least:

Directory Number

Display

Display ASCII

Alerting Name

Alerting Name Ascii

- Assuming here that all your UPCs will go in a common Device Profile, have common CSS on device and line, go in a common partition etc. If any of that is not the case, then add the fields to the spreadsheet.

When you are done, hit export and it checks the data and generates your CSV, which you then upload.

It's usually a good idea to do a couple of test records first, and then if you have missed any important fields you can easily delete what you've created and reimport. When you are happy import the whole thing...

Regards

Aaron
