I don't find the files I need for upgrading CUCM 5.1.3.6000-2 to CUCM 7.1(2). I have the COP file, but miss some files that are called a patch-set. Does anyone know where I can find these files? And do I really need these files?
The only files I seems to have is UCSInstall_UCOS_7.1.2.10000-16.sgn.iso
I also want a bootable installation DVD of CUCM 7.1(2), but the only file I have is the same as above which is a non-bootable upgrade DVD for CUCM 6.x and 7x ?!
Please advice.
Cheers!

Hi Stig,
Yes, it will be on the Media set and is also available for download at the link below (I just checked :)
Before you upgrade, you must install the COP file ciscocm.513e_upgrade.cop.sgn on the server. This COP file is available from the following URL:
For information about installing this COP file, follow the installation instructions included with the COP file.
Hope this helps!

Hi Stig,
The .iso upgrade files are only valid for upgrades from CUCM 6.1(2) and CUCM 7.0(x), so you will need to order the 7.1(2) media set.
Here is the reference to this;
Upgrading from Unified **CM 6.1(2) or Later to Unified CM 7.1(2) by Using the UCSInstall File
Note Because the 7.1.2.10000-16 build is a nonbootable ISO, it proves useful only for upgrades. You cannot use it for new installations.
Ordering the Upgrade Media
To upgrade to Cisco Unified CM Release 7.1(2), use the Product Upgrade Tool (PUT) to obtain a media kit and license or to purchase the upgrade from Cisco Sales.
To use the PUT, you must enter your Cisco contract number (Smartnet, SASU or ESW) and request the DVD/DVD set. If you do not have a contract for Cisco Unified Communications Manager, you must purchase the upgrade from Cisco Sales.
For more information about supported Cisco Unified CM upgrades, see the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Software Compatibility Matrix at the following URL:

Rob,
Thanks for your reply. Do you know if I will find the patch set (see text below) on the 7.1.2 media set also?
Upgrading From Supported Cisco Unified Communications Manager 5.1(x) Releases
If you are upgrading from Cisco Unified Communications Manager release 5.1(3), the upgrade requires a set of files called a patch set. These files exist on the a Cisco-provided DVD in directory named cisco-ipt-k9-patchX.X.X.X-X, where X.X.X.X-X represents the release and build number.

Thanks again Rob :-)
I tried the link you gave me; I can only see the ciscocm.513e_upgrade.cop.sgn, but no path-set. I guess I don't have the rights needed. Will check it out with our reseller.

Rob,
I were told that there wasn't something called a patch set anymore. Are you sure you can see that patch set that I'm referring to? I have the ciscocm.513e_upgrade.cop.sgn file already.

Hi Stig,
Sorry for the confusion here my friend :) My reference is for the COP file ciscocm.513e_upgrade.cop.sgn. The patch set does not exist. My terminology may have been mixed up. This is the file that will need to be installed before upgrading to CUCM 7.1(X)
Hope this helps!

Rob,
While you are on it. Can I then use the UCSInstall_UCOS_7.1.2.10000-16.sgn.iso for upgrading 5.1.3(e) after installing ciscocm.513e_upgrade.cop.sgn?
I have burned UCSInstall_UCOS_7.1.2.10000-16.sgn.iso to a DVD, but the CUCM refuses to use it.
Used Install/upgrade from CUC Operating System Administration
Thanks!

Hi Stig,
You are most welcome!
You must be at CUCM **6.1(2) or later to use the files that you are trying (UCSInstall_UCOS_7.1.2.10000-16.sgn.iso)
Because you are upgrading from CUCM 5.1(3) you are required to order the Upgrade Media :)
The .iso upgrade files are only valid for upgrades from CUCM 6.1(2) and CUCM 7.0(x), so you will need to order the 7.1(2) media set.
