We are seeing a small amount of users that cant install IP communicator 7.0.4.0 on CUCM8.5.1.11900-24 even though they have local admin rights on their computers.
Sometimes we have to click on the IP communicator.exe and do a "run as administrator" it it works sometimes. anyone seen this problem?
Thanks again,
Andy

Hi Andy,
What is the OS where this is happening?
This is expected behavior for Windows 7 and Vista where users by default do not invoke applications with administrator privileges even if the user is an administrator.
In Release 7.0.4, users with administrator privileges and UAC enabled must right-click and select
Run As Administrator
to change Cisco IP Communicator network settings. You can also disable UAC entirely.
This is documented here:
Kind regards,
Maria Jose

Hello Maria,
Thank you for your help. Run As Administrator did work on most of the users that had issues, but we had 1 person that it did not work.
Thank you very much for your help on this.
Andy
