Using Local Route Groups with Multiple CUCM Groups

Hey All,

Wanted to run this by my peers to see if this is doable or not.  Basically I have a centralized cluster with multiple CUCM groups (between an 8 node geo-cluster) and I am trying to figure out if the following is possible.  With Local Route Groups (LRG) you create one route group and one route list.  The problem is that if I can only use one route list then I have no choice but to use the one CUCM group that is configured in that route list.  Is there no way to use a route list with another CUCM group configured?  The problem I am trying to avoid is using one route list that is tied to one CUCM group and have 90+ remote sites use that one CUCM group.  Trying to keep the load spread over the cluster.

Please let me know if this doesnt make sense and I will try to clarify.

Thanks!

Your problem is addressed in CUCM 8.5, where you can run a Route List (and a SIP-trunk)

on all CM-nodes.
