Hello All, is there anyone in the forum able to recognize and or have experienced the same issue in the past.
I have approx 32 Cisco IP Phones ( Models 7965-G & 7945- G ) NOT ABLE TO POWER UP when plugged in, they are in a Cisco 3500 Switch series, back plain.
They ALL once worked just fine in my environment and with the start of 1 going down then came the plague and now I have 32 dead.
There are only 116 IP Phones presently in the environment and might I there say that the Cisco 3500 Switch is a hardware over kill, but the company I represent inherited the equipment.
Any help ideas and or known systoms will be a great.
Cheers,
Val.

Hi Val,
What is the exact switch model u are using?
Did u try powering these phones with power adaptor or another PoE switch ?
or
try raising the RMA for one of faulty phone & check whether it is working on same 3500 switch.

Hello Aman,
The Switch is a Cisco 6500 series.
I do not have power codes and the Phones are not covered under any warrantee.
I have tried plugging he phones into other POE Switches directly and same symptoms they power on / after cycle is done they go dead.
Any ideas,
Val.

Seems like they got corruputed firmware and unable to boot. Not an hardware issue and should be recoverable.
