Hi,

I have scenario where one of the location has 300-500 users connected via anlog PBX. The other part has CIsco IPT. I just need to check if it is advisable to use VG224 for such large number of users? Like i need up to 21 VG224 gatways for connectivity? Is there any other option available that i can use.

The problem is there is no ethernet cabling at site.

Secondly i want to check that VG224 has option of connecting RJ-21 cable? Where do you get this cable? is not provided by Cisco and how do you connect it to the distribution pannel.

Appreciate ur help.

You can surely do that. You can buy the RJ21 cable from any telecom products reseller, then the details depends on you cabling system.

Hi Nouman,

Just to add a note to the good tips from Paolo (+5 Mr."P")

You have many options for cables and patch panels. Probably one for every situation that we can think of  Here are the parts you would need to connect to a 24 port, rack mounted Patch Panel (without needing to terminate the cable with Bix or 110 connecting tools on terminating blocks). The Stonewall Cable website is a great source, but is just one example. If you just Google "Cisco RJ21 Cables" you will get lots of hits

The Amphenol port on the VG224 is Female so you will need to order a Male RJ21.

In most scenarios, you will need to run the 25pair cable(s) from the VG224's to a location

where the existing Telco "Cross-connect" cables already terminate. This will allow you

to pull off the current "Cross-connect" jumpers and re-terminate with new jumpers that

run from the new VG224 cables to the existing set or Tie cables.

Cheers!
