I'm a service tech that works with these a lot. The worst part is identifying the telephone number I'm working on. I get the same number on every port. There has to be a better way. S

The outbound ANI for a PSTN call is controlled by the PBX (presumably CUCM) and the egress PSTN gateway (often CUBE or another SIP SBC these days). It’s easy to see the DN assigned to a pair/port if you’re in the PBX admin UI, and in some cases the VG450 CLI. If you’re role is limited to the cable plant, the PBX admin should configure you an extension to dial internally to hear the calling DN value; easy to do if they have an IVR product such as CVP/ICM or IP IVR/CCX.

Jonathan,
Thanks. Yes I'm limited to the cable plant side of things. I install these in the field and I'm also asked to add/change lines often. Even when I'm given the port assignment it's still a struggle to ensure I have the correct number I'm adding/moving. I connect my test set to the assigned port and call it from my cell to see if it rings. Clumsy and archaic way of doing things. I was hoping for a 2022 solution.
