Voice register commands

I have Cisco 2611XM router having "flash:c2600-adventerprisek9-mz.124-17.bin" IOS. But i cant execute the following commands (supporting SIP phones on router). Do i need to upgrade the IOS on router?

voice register global

voice register dn

What are you wanting to run - CUCME or SRST ?

What is the message you see when you try to input the commands ?

Also your IOS has been deferred by Cisco due to software bugs (IE you can no lomnger download this version.).

You should upgrade to :-

c2600-adventerprisek9-mz.124-17b.bin if you need to remain in this train.

You should however run the recommended IOS fom the CUCME compatability matrix if you run CUCME.
