I've just taken delivery of a new 2901 router.
The IOS installed is 2900 Software (C2900-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.0(1)M6
The license information is as follows.
Technology Package License Information for Module:'c2900'
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Technology Technology-package Technology-package
Current Type Next reboot
------------------------------------------------------------------
ipbase ipbasek9 Permanent ipbasek9
security None None None
uc uck9 Permanent uck9
data None None None
If I enter "show telephony service" I get back
CONFIG (Version=7.1)
=====================
Version 7.1
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express
Does this mean I have version 7.1 of CME?
Given that the current version of CME seems to be 8.6 I'm surprised a new router could be shipping with such an old version
Thanks
Andy

Have a look at:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/33matrix.htm
Since you are running IOS 15.0(1)M6 you have indeed CME 7.1.
When you order an 2901 you have to specify which IOS version you want. If you've specified 15.0M, you get CME 7.1 which is the recommended CME version.
You will have to upgrade the IOS version to get a more recent CME version.

Thanks.
I thought it was the case but just couldn't believe a new router could come with such an old version of CME
