Hi Aman,

Install tftpd32(or tftpd64)on your computer. you can download it from the following link :

http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html

1)Launch tftpd32

2)Click on "Tftp Client" tab

3)put in the Call Manager TFTP IP address in the "Host" field

4)Put "xmldefault.cnf.xml" in the "Local File" field and click "Get".

This will download the config file in the directory used by tftpd32.

I have a screenshot of tftpd64 from my computer which runs on a 6 bit OS :

Hope this helps!

Saurabh

Hi guys,

Could there be a reason why nothing seems to be coming up for me? I've tried both commands through cmd on windows vista ultimate as well as with this program above mentioned by Saurabh. I can ping my cisco tftp 10.1.1.1 on command prompt. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Aman,

Open command prompt on your laptop / PC. Run the following command:

tftp get XMLDefault.CNF.XML

Example:

C:\>tftp 10.104.149.118 get XMLDefault.CNF.XML

Transfer successful: 7332 bytes in 1 second, 7332 bytes/s

Please rate if this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

One more query from where do we get XMLDefault.CNF file in call manager or I simply follow the above procedure to download the XMLDefault file and then, edit for desired firmware version.

regds,

aman

Hey Aman,

That file like all phone config files is stored in the system memory of the TFTP server. The best way to download it would be the procedure described above.

HTH,

Hi Harmit,

Are these configuration files IP phone model dependent?

If I simply follow the procedure as mentioned by you, would I be able to download the XMLDefault.cnf file.
