Modem slow transmission when plugged into VG204

Hi

I recently migrated a customer from a Nortel PBX to CUCM 9.1.1. I installed a vg204 for some analog devices. Since i moved one US robotics modem fron the nortel to the VG204, the transmission rate for data is extremely slow. This was not the case when the Nortel was in play. The vg204 is registered as an MGCP gateway. Is there some commands that i need to issue in order to improve the transmission rate. Has anyone come accross this issue before?

There are various configurations options so a call flow example would be helpful.   I.E. Telco – PRI – GW – MGCP – CUCM – MGCP – VG224 – Fax/Modem
