I am trying to set up an IPv4 over IPv6 tunnel without GRE on ASR 1002. I find there are two options:
tunnel mode gre ipv6
tunnel mode ipv6
However, it seems that the two commands have the same result- using GRE IPv6 tunnnel
I do not want GRE, just plain IPv4 over iPv6 tunnel, Is it possible?
Thanks
Twinkle

6to4 is IPv6-over-IPv4 tunnel but what I want is IPv4-over-IPv6 tunnel....

Hi there,
To tunnel, you need some form of encapsulation. GRE is the most lightweight option.
cheers,
Seb.
