Hello,
I have been learning to work with NAT64 recently and I wanted to try configure the following topology (see attached image). I would like to ask if anyone could help me with the configuration and whether it is possible to route in this network so that the host ubuntu-desktop-1 can ping the host ubuntu-desktop-server-1.
Both routers have stateful NAT64 configured with static mapping. I am able to ping the interface gi2 on R2 from ubuntu-desktop-1, and I can also ping the interface gi2 on R1 from ubuntu-desktop-server-1. However, I am struggling to figure out how to set up the routing to connect both hosts.
My question is: Is it possible to connect both hosts in this topology, going from an IPv4 network to an IPv6 network and back to IPv4? If so, where might I have a configuration error, or what routing might be missing?
Thank you for your assistance!
Best regards,
Davi

Working already, my configuration was just missing two more nat64 v6v4 static mappings on each router.

NO need routing
NAT solve the routing issue between Host
what you need only GW in each host

I have already set the default gateway on both hosts to the IP address of the router interface directly connected to each host. However, I am still unable to ping between the hosts. For example, when I try to ping 192.168.1.254 from host 1, I receive a "destination host unreachable" message. I also attempted to ping using the IPv6 address, but that did not work as well.
Could you please confirm if I have configured NAT64 correctly on both routers? Additionally, what address should I use to successfully ping between the hosts?
