Hi,
In our test environment, i try developing a custom search and play application (c#) using Mediasense 10.5 API. I am able to get the http url related with the session i would like to reach successfully like https://x.x.x.x:8446/recordedMedia/oramedia/mp4/54x151x8xf21x67.mp4, but when i copy the link to Internet Explorer v11.0.0.9600.18098, i had certificate warning like below:
After I clicked "Continue to this website(not recommended)":
After entering a valid application user and pass:
After clicking "Yes":
After again entering the same valid application user and pass, i had the following error and my mp4 voice file is not played:
When i download the mp4 file from Cisco default Mediasense Search and Play application, then copy the file to another standalone server has tomcat and then copy the link for it like http://Y.Y.Y.Y:7000/test/test/54x151x8xf21x67.mp4 to the same IE, i am able to play the file successfully. So it shouldn't be the player doesn't support the codec as stated in the last error. (Also unlike stated in the certificate error description, the name on the security certificate which is hostname of my mediasense server can be resolved in my network to the ip address of the mediasense server which is name of the site)
As a second problem; If i try using the rtsp url which is returned by the API like rtsp://X.X.X.X/archive/549151x7xf26x21 in my application to play the call, the player asks this:
(Connecting to "the ip address of my mediasense server")
and it does't accept any valid application username and passwords.
Since my aim is to develope a .NET based search and play application using embedded Windows Media Player, i need to make these work. What might be the reason for these errors and the solution?
Thanks.

Hi Gozde,
We generally use VLC player for rtsp playback and it's working pretty good in our lab. It has capabilities to play multiple tracks simultaneously so I will suggest you for the same. Through httpUrl you can only play one side video as it depends on the player used by the browser.
So please try the rtsp url with VLC media player, version 2.0.5.

Hi Gozde,
Can you please let us know the MS build you are using is 10.5FCS or 10.5SU . And when did you install this mediasense as we fixed an issue for certificates in MS which was expiring in December .
And can you also try it on firefox with VLC player .
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Prateek,
Thank you for you answer. Full version is 10.5.1.10000-23. We installed it approx. 6 months ago.
Also, I tried the same link on IE with hostname of the server instead of the ip address, the certificate error didn't appear but it asked for user name and password two times like below, accepted the user and pass i entered and the started to play:
When i copy the http url of the mp4 file (both with the ip address and hostname of mediasense server) on Firefox, it asks for username and pasword for one time, when i write the application username and password it starts playing the file.
Is the fix you mentioned applicable for us ?
Thanks.

Rtsp url behavor is very strange, it doesn't even accept the credentials. Do you think the fix will help on this too?

Hi Gozde,
Fix will solve the problem of credentials being asked 2 times as it is happening due to certificate.
I will be checking for RTSP url behavior at my end too .
And for RTSP : which username and password are you giving in for MS , i will accept the api user that you have created in CUCM and have selected that in Mediasense admin .
It will be great if u can elaborate on strange behavior apart from above mentioned in your first query.

For rtsp url, i use the same valid api user when prompted, it doesn't start playing the file after i entered the credentials, but it starts playing when i did the same with http url.

One more problem i had with httpUrl, it plays only one side of the video call, how can i play two side? I need urgent response, since we have a presentation plan to upper management very soon. I can open a new discussion for this, if necessary.
Thanks.

Hi Avinash,
Rtsp url worked with VLC player, thanks. But, it opens the second side of the call in a different screen unlike the player in Cisco Mediasense S&P which opens them next to each other in the same player. I couldn't find any workaround to do this with VLC player. Do you know how it is done in Cisco Mediasense S&P?
Thanks

Hi Gozde,
This thing vary from player to player. We have added logic in the Cisco Mediasense S&P so that it plays both video on the same screen having one video control option but I am not sure about VLC player that how they have implemented this thing.

Hi Avinash,
Thank you for your answer. I will try vlc in my application and will let you know the result, thank you.
Hi Prateek,
After reading 10.5.1_SU1 AND 10.5.1.SU2 release notes below, i couldn't match my case exactly to the resolved defects, it seems SU1 brings In-browser playback feature which claims to eliminate some certificate issues, SU2 resolves CSCuw53720 which has symptom like "A security warning pop-up appears when initiating JNLP player on S&P".
So can you help me in which release that i can find the fix you mentioned for my certificate issue?
Thanks.
