WS-X6xxx LAN cards will use PFC for MPLS operations.

For these cards, EoMPLS is supported, VPLS isn't.

For VPLS, you need ES, ES+ or SIP cards.

For PFC MPLS features, check this page: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/7600/ios/15S/configuration/guide/pfc3mpls.html

For ES20, check this page:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/7600/install_config/ES20_config_guide/baldcfg.html#wp1584356

For ES+, check this page:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/7600/install_config/ES40_config_guide/es40_chap6.html

Cheers

Hi Amir,

due to formatting the topology is not too clear.

However if the 7600 with ES+ will be the PE's and the Cat6500 with 6708 just P's routers you can have VPLS in your scenario (VPLS with Ethernet Access) as I can see that the ES+ on the 7600 are facing the MPLS core.

Hi Amir,

you need ES+ on N-PE side facing the U-PE's only for MPLS access, that is having MPLS also between U-PE and N-PE.

If the access network is just IP there is no need for ES+ and 6724 will do fine.

Hello Amir,

yes you can connect ES/ES+ cards to 6708 and yes you can use 6708 card on cat6513.

About the documentation I don't think that such docs do exist.

Riccardo

Thank you Riccardo

Well, I have another question now, in our project, we use four 6513 in core and seven 7613 in aggregation. We want to use ES+ TG on 7613 for trunk and connect them to 6708 on 6513. We use 6148 and 6724 line card on 7613 for down link to 3400 metro access switch. Now I want to know where I can run VPLS and EoMPLS and Local Switching in this case or not ?

I would really appreciate some help.

Thank you

Thank you Andre

I really worried about our project, do you mean, we can’t run VPLS with below scenario.

ME3400 < --- > 6724 line card ( 7613 ) ES+20 < --- > 6708 ( 6513 ) 6708 < --- > 6708 ( 6513 ) 6708 < --- >  ES+20 ( 7613 ) 6724 line card < --- > ME3400

tahnk you ricardo

i attached jpeg file of my scenario and have another question, do i need to use ES+ on N-PE ( 7613) for U-PE side ?

i need H-VPLS and VPLS and EoMPLS.
