I get this warning everytime i try to write my config to memory..

Warning: Attempting to overwrite an NVRAM configuration previously written

by a different version of the system image.

Have tried just about everything synchronize the current ios version...i do not have this trouble with my other devices running the same stuff..

Any help would be appreciated..

What IOS are you running? Take a look at

Why should this message be troublesome, I had a similar problem, being in the Lab I had rebooted the router and these messages had stopped...

This normally happens on boxes having dual route processors, so before rebooting can you please update the images on both the route processors ??

rebooting doesn't work.. the message itself isn't troublesome other than just an annoyance.. i prefer not to live with annoyances.. i think i have narrowed the trouble down to a persistent-data file in my nvram.. i have one other box with the same trouble and it has the same file.. my many other boxes that do not have the trouble do not have this file..

The file does not appear to have any read write permissions associated with it..

Any ideas on removing it?

Directory of nvram:/

1 -rw- 6898 startup-config

2 ---- 5 private-config

3 -rw- 6898 underlying-config

1 ---- 4 rf_cold_starts

2 ---- 20 persistent-data

oh, and the ios i am running is

c6sup22-psv-mz.121-13.E4.bin

oh... and I only have one sup2 card installed.. no redundancy

you write "get this warning everytime i try to write my config to memory" just a stupid quiz, have you ignored the warning and saved the config anyway.

message lasted until we did an uprade on the IOS.. I no longer get the message with the new IOS
