Assume we have 3 customer locations A, B and C

Using LAN Extension through an ATM cloud how many vlans can be mapped to the ATM VC

i.e Can we map vlan 200 and vlan 201 to an ATM VC between A and B

Also Can we map the same -vlan 200 to an ATM VC between locations A-B and another ATM VC between A-C.

Please advise

From what i recollect from a previous thread about your service provider setup, that they have a native ATM cloud and not a MPLS based EoMPLS setup:

Q//

Can we map vlan 200 and vlan 201 to an ATM VC between A and B

A//

Yes you can bridge the same vlans onto a speific VC.(This will depend on how the vlan is being mapped ot the VC, if its bridging then yes, as we discussed bridging in the previous thread)

Q//

Also Can we map the same -vlan 200 to an ATM VC between locations A-B and another ATM VC between A-C.

A//

Yes, only if you have a full mesh at the layer 2 on ATM , then by bridging you can have multipoint connectivity.

So you are saying multiple vlans per VC is doable ? can you please explain

your vlan subint and the ATM subint would belong to the same bridge domain on both sides.

Obviously it cannot be carried as seperate vlans as when its bridged it will collapse into a single domain.

Also can u explain more on your service providers setup.
