Card support only LAN mode.

I would like to buy the Cisco 9K newest line card.  

A9K-24X10GE-1G-SE.

The description says, "Both optimized versions of the line card support only LAN mode."  what does this really mean?  What are the limitation. If not LAN mode, what else would it support?
