Hi,

I am always confused with "mdt source Loopback0" command. Should we put this under Multicast IPV4 or Multicast VRF IPV4. I am pasting both, please suggest.

 

multicast-routing
 address-family ipv4
  mdt source Loopback0

OR


multicast-routing
 VRF TEST
  address-family ipv4
   mdt source Loopback0

    mdt default 239.255.100.100

Hello,

 

Trust you are doing good.

 

Considering you are using this command on the PE router and the loopback 0 is in the global routing table, the first option is correct.

multicast-routing
 address-family ipv4
  mdt source Loopback0

 

Hence loopback 0 IP would become the source for the Multicast distribution Tree sourced from this PE.
