Hi,
I have a Cisco 7613 router with a STM-1 card on which there are 63 E1 channels running several circuits.i need to connect an MPLS VPN link on one of the channels, the capacity of the link is 1 Mb ,whereas each e1 on my stm is capable of 2.048 Mb(unframed), but the link protocol remains down ,we are using PPP on this link. Is there something missing ,Kindly help.

Hi Anu
I belive you have a channelized STM-1 Card which you can configure for 63 E1 Links and out of which 1 particular E1 Link is showing as UP/Down.
As you have mentioned your side encapsulation is PPP. Have you checked that what is the encapsulation kept on the MPLS Side. I doubt it would be not PPP that side and thats causing the issue of a Layer 2 encapsulation mismatch.
As far as the BW capping of 1 Mb on this link same would be controlled by the MPLS provider and would not be an issue during the link setup
Hope this helps you. Do let know if your issue is solved or not.

Hi Anu
Good to hear that the link has been put through.
I thought it was a Channelized STM with the E1s being used in Unframed mode but actually its a Channelized STM with E1's being configured in Framed Mode-Channellized Config on individual E1s right ?
