MPLS TE in the modern SP network

Hi Guys

1) do we still need MPLS TE in the modern SP network ( as GIG Link is every where )

or JUST enough relying on IGP < since nowsday 3 packets loss in case in covergence doesnt heart

2) wich one is more apropriate FRR Link protection or Node protection

Hello Ibrahim,

MPLS TE is still in use for MPLS TE fast reroute and traffic engineering capabilities that allows to steer some traffic and move it over non optimal paths with the obejctive of using at most all the links in the service provider network.

2) It depends from the network topology, node protection is more powerful but it also requires more resources to prepare detour paths.
