I am doing Multicast VPN for our customers based using Draft-Rosen Based Multicast VPN based design
Additional details for your understanding below:
- Our multicast VPN for the customer is setup using Default MDT. No DATA MDT used
- Service provider is running PIM SPARSE-MODE with Single RP
- mGRE tunnels [Multipoint to Multipoint tunnels] are used to setup the PE-to-PE adjacency to carry customer multicast traffic
- Our core RP was down. This caused all the Multicast GRE tunnels.
- We restored the service after setting up another Router as the RP
Problem statement
We are tried to simulate this problem in the LAB & Production. But the mGRE tunnels are UP & RUNNING
Any reason why ?
