Hi,

We are getting this message each hour. Anyone know what's going on? The Output Interpreter is not clear at all.

Nov 15 09:16:26: %TFIB-SP-7-SCANSABORTED: TFIB scan not completing. Unresolved adjacency.

!

Nov 15 09:16:43: %TFIB-SP-STDBY-7-SCANSABORTED: TFIB scan not completing. Unresolved adjacency.

Thanks,

IF you are having many changes to your topology and reconvergence then it may put load on the RP and deplete it of resources to complete the FIB scans.

If you are not observing any changes or reconvergence in your network then this could be purely cosmetic.

As per the description these messages are informational and should go away by reloading.

HTH-Cheers,

Swaroop

This is what the description says

CSCdy01077

Symptoms The following error messages may be displayed on the console port of a Cisco Catalyst 6000 switch:

%TFIB-7-SCANSABORTED: TFIB scan not completing. MAC string updated.

%TFIB-DFC8-7-SCANSABORTED: TFIB scan not completing. MAC string updated. *

The messages may continue to be displayed until the Cisco Catalyst 6000 switch is reloaded. The error messages are informational and indicate that an excessive amount of network or line transitions may cause an excessive number of Forwarding Information Base (FIB) scans. Processes that are attempting to converge on the network may cause the Route Processor (RP) and the Switch Processor (SP) CPU utilization to occasionally reach 100 percent.

Conditions This symptom is observed on a Cisco Catalyst 6000 switch that is running Cisco IOS Release 12.2.

Workaround There is no workaround.
