Is it possible to backup an ISE node that is running version 2.4 and restore that backup to an ISE node that is running version 3.0?

I am successfully able to create Endpoint Identity Groups with the ISE API (v2.7). But I can't figure out how to add a group to a parent group in the API as I can in the GUI. Thanks.
