Adding new devices in Cisco LMS 4.1

Hi, I've download free trial from cisco site Cisco LMS. I've installed  and now I have a question. how to add a device ?

Hi,

There are three ways you can add the devices :

1. Using Device discovery :

Inventory > Device Administration > Discovery > Settings

2. Manually adding the Device:

Inventory > Device Administration > Add / Import / Manage Devices

3.By creating the device list in csv format and Imorting them using IMPORT option :

Inventory > Device Administration > Add / Import / Manage Devices >> click on BULK IMPORT.

Hi,

Kindly login to LMS and then look for Inventory tab at the top > there you will find the option to Add\Delete the device.

Should snmp be configured/enabled on switches ?

Hi,

Yes SNMP Need to be configured on the Device to Manage the Device in cisco works  for e.g  get the Inventroy of the Device etc...

Ok, I have another question. I've tried to discover devices, but I have a problem with it. In setting of auto discover I've configured (snmp is configured correctly)

But I con only see devices directly connected to switch, that I added by myself. Anyway when I ad a device by myself everything is OK. Can u help me with that ?

I'm reading and reading and I can't find a report which will show me utilization of all of the ports on switch. Where is it ?

Hi ,

Do not select Use DCR as seed list option, add your seed device under  the Modules that you have selected like CDP ,ping sweep etc... rest should be just fine..
