ASA 5506-X FTD DHCP Relay

Hello,

Just upgraded my asa 5506-x to FTD and can not find how to configure a DHCP Relay on FTD GUI. I have a DHCP server running on my Windows Server 2012 connected to ASA Firewall Ethernet 1/3 and Ethernet 1/2 is connected to a Cisco SG-250 switch, wich are configured with VLAN 10, 20. I need to make two DHCP pools in my server and let computers from inside network get the addresses. Can anyone help me?

Hello Jan,

I have looked at the configuration guide for FTD.

I can find a section about how to set a DHCP server with multiple pools, but no info about DHCP relay feature.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/610/fdm/fptd-fdm-config-guide-610/fptd-fdm-system.html#id_11195

System Server > DHCP settings

And it reports the following sentence:

>> DHCP clients must be on the same network as the interface on which the server is enabled. That is, there cannot be an intervening router between the server and client, although there can be a switch.

Depending on your network scenario you would consider if moving the DHCP server function to the ASA FTD.

I am trying to search in the pdf version of the configuration  guide

Edit:

I couldn't find any occurrence of DHCP relay in the pdf document. I am surprised.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
