Assistance Required: Issues with nxos.9.3.13.bin for Nexus 9000

Dear Cisco Community,

I am currently working on a critical deployment of Cisco Nexus 9000 series switches, and I need some guidance regarding the NX-OS 9.3.13.bin image. Our team is encountering issues while attempting to upgrade to this version, and we're hoping the community can assist in resolving this situation.

Background:

  • Switch Model: Nexus 9000 Series
  • Current Software Version: ACI mode (trying to convert to NX-OS)
  • Desired Version: NX-OS 9.3.13.bin

The Issue:

We are attempting to install the NX-OS 9.3.13.bin image on our Nexus 9000 series switches as part of a network upgrade. The goal is to transition from ACI mode to NX-OS mode and set the switch up for core uplinks across multiple floors in our headquarters. However, we have encountered issues with:

  • Booting from USB: The image fails to load from USB after transferring the nxos.9.3.13.bin file to the device.
  • File Integrity: We want to ensure the nxos.9.3.13.bin file is correct and hasn’t been corrupted during the download or transfer process.
  • Compatibility: Are there known issues with NX-OS 9.3.13 and Nexus 9000 switches that we should be aware of? Are there specific steps we need to follow when upgrading from ACI to NX-OS mode?

Thank you for your time and support!

Thank you I have successfully migrated to NX OS, but I am currently facing an issue with my Cisco switch where I am logged in as an Admin user (Role 1), but I am unable to make any changes to the configuration. The user seems to have restricted permissions, and I cannot modify settings or perform any administrative tasks.

Background:

  • User Role: Admin (Role 1)
  • Issue: The Admin user (Role 1) is unable to perform any configuration changes or access certain administrative functions.
  • Symptoms: Commands that should work are not being executed, and I am receiving permission errors. For example, I am unable to modify interface settings or run essential configuration commands.

Could anyone help me understand:

  • Why this might be happening with Role 1?
  • What I can do to resolve this issue and restore full administrative control?
  • Are there any role-based restrictions that might be preventing me from performing these tasks?

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or solutions the community can provide!

Thank you in advance!
