Hi all,
I have installed an LMS 2.5.1 installation on Win2003 server.
I've got the following components:
CiscoWorks Common Services 3.0.4
Campus Manager 4.0.4
CiscoView 6.1.4
Device Fault Manager 2.0.4
Internetwork Performance Monitor 2.6.0
Resource Manager Essentials 4.0.4
When I try to launch the Campus Manager Topology services from a remote PC it fails with "Unknown Error". Cannot connect to ANI server."
Lots of errors in the Java console and also in the ANI.log, jrm.log, CampusOGSServer.log. See attached file.
Local browser (that was run from the LMS server Terminal Services session) was successfully launched.
Any clues would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Y.

Probably some connection probably from the server to the client is blocked.
Maybe something inbetween that blocks? Firewall ACL
Try from a pc that is in the same subnet.
Also try to disable firewall on PC
Cheers,
Michel

Hi
most CORBA errors are related to missing cw server hostname settings, such as dns.
On the remote client PC, add the IP address and hostname of your CW server in the your host file. If you're using a XP client you can find it here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Edit the hosts file with notepad and add it like this:
192.168.47.15 cwserverhostname
Then connect to the CiscoWorks server using the hostname and not the IP. like: http://cwserverhostname:1741
Let us know how it turned out.

Pierre,
Thanks for helping out. Actually restarting all CW sevices sorted out the problem. But
I've also added the DNS stuff just in case ;-)
Thanks,
Yigal
