as far as I recall, if you use PPPoEoA, you need something like this:

interface ATM0/3/0
no ip address
atm oversubscribe factor 2
no atm enable-ilmi-trap
pvc 8/48
--> encapsulation aal5mux pppoe-client
pppoe-client dial-pool-number 2

If you use PPPoA, you need this:

interface ATM0/3/0
no ip address
atm oversubscribe factor 2
no atm enable-ilmi-trap
pvc 8/48
--> encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer
--> dialer pool-member 2
