Cisco 7609 SP: FAILED to write to DS1338 RTC device

Hello.. does anyone know the meaning of this log message in a 7609 router - "SP: FAILED to write to DS1338 RTC device"?

So far as I can tell DS1338 RTC is supposed to be a (linux-related?) clock but I don't see how that's related to the router.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue. did you find any solution to this.

BR//Rajiv

Unfortunately no. I'm assuming it's related to some kind of Unix clock system. Still getting the error and no idea how to troubleshoot. Not a lot of related info available.

Please update if you find anything.

Thanks.

I haven't found anything as yet. Still getting the same error but it doesn't seem to be affecting the router. Am still searching for information.

I am going to replace the chassis 7609 in soon and report you back.

Noticed the same log messages in 7609.

Did anyone found the reason? Is it a chassis problem?

I experienced this as well. Check out BugID CSCts20541

The clock on my RP and SP looked fine.
