Dear All,

We have installed the Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 in our production environment. We have configured SMTP settings, but unable to find where we can configure username and password for SMTP authentication. It's only giving a option to enter email address without any authentication parameters.

Any suggestion or workaround

Regards,

Bhushan,

You dont need configure username and password.

The only thing you need is:

1. Admin>sytem>SMTP Default Server, insert your IP SMTP Server.

when you klil apply, it will ok.

2. Admin>sytem>SMTP Default Server, insert your email of your domain and insert IP SMTP Server again.

when you apply it will failed, because I think there is bug on LMS.

So, find file \CSCOpx\MDC\etc\regdaemon.xml and edit it. Insert your IP SMTP server (i.e SMTP server is 10.10.10.1)

Make sure configuration like I show below:

-

  SMTPServerName

  10.10.10.1

  1

-

-

  SMTPServerName

  10.10.10.1

  10.10.10.1

  System

  1

-

Now on Admin>sytem>SMTP Default Server, you can see there is an IP already set for your SMTP Server.

*backup first the regdaemon.xml before you edit it.

From admin>>>>> system preference>>>>smtpserver:-" put your mail server ip"

administrator E-mail id:- " put lms mail "

check on enable mail attachment

and choose the attaxhment size

i tried to put a fake mail but it didn't work too, and in the mail you will not find the mail in the sent items
so i think it just check if the mail is valid or not nothing more
