3.2 --> 3.4 --3.7  ( Inline Upgrade)

3.9 fresh installation due to Linux Code change and restore 3.7 backup high level.

Notes :

Take full backup of 3.2 (appliance and application) to be safe (take Long Long hours)

upgrade inline to 3.4  -  re-sync devices

Take full backup of 3.4 (application) to be safe (take Long Long hours)

upgrade to 3.4 to 3.7 - re-sync devices

Take full backup of 3.7 (application) to be safe (take Long Long hours)  ( also suggest to take full backup)

Install a fresh copy of Prime 3.9 and restore the backup of 3.7 (takes easily 10 hours depending on data) -some assurance data is not possible.

  1. Backup the maps & DB of PI 3.2
  2. Stand up a new VM of PI 3.9
  3. Update the PI 3.9 Oracle DB first.
  4. Install PI 3.9 patches
  5. Install PI 3.9 device packs
  6. Import the maps and DB

NOTE:  PI 3.10 is about to be released.
