Ciscoworks dfm - backplane utilisation message

Hi,

At present I am using Ciscoworks to manage my network. My network consists of two cat6509's at the core running HSRP and all edge switches (3500's and 2900's) and directly connected to the core.

From DFM I am getting email notifications stating that the backplane utilisation of the core 6509's is high.

Connecting on to said devices and doing a 'show traffic' shows the backplanes utilisation to be low, and the peak utilisation to be 8%.

Any ideas on how to change the backplane Thresholds on DFM, and also what other commands to use on the 6509's to get a good representation of the backplane utilisation

thanks

When you open up DFM go to the Administration Console.

Then click the button all the way to the right which will take you to the polling and thresholds tab.

From this tab, you can see all of your subgroups for both polling and thresholds (they are also 2 different tabs).

You can pretty much manipulate the thresholds any way you want for any device/port/interface/etc. you want.
