When logging into the web interface the error http status 404 - /cwhp/liasonservlet is received. I've tried rebooting the server and restarting the apache service, any ideas welcome.

What version of LMS are you running?
Do you see any error messages in the stdout.log?
Is there virus scanning software running while you try to login that might prevent certain JAR files from loading?

If you are using ACS, you may have to delete and re-add the user in the ACS server. We have had to do that a couple of times for different users.
