Command not recognized on switch WS-C2960G-48TC-L

Good morning all,

I'm here because while trying to launch the following command:

(config-if)authentication event server dead action authorize voice

the device keeps saying to me the "invalid input detected" error". I've tried in other switches 2960 models and the command is recognized properly.

Perhaps it is not supported on this model or software version? (current release installed Version 12.2(58)SE2)

check the IOS version of the other switches 2960 models where this command is available. 15.x version ?

If yes upgrade to 15.x release also.

I tried to launch the same command into switches with 12.2.x release, and like @balaji.bandi said and confirmed, i managed to launch the command and it works as per devices with 12.2(33) and later. I may have typing something wrong.

Sure i see last voice command may be wrong, correct that syntax and let us know if that works.

Are the other switches the same model? And are you on the same version? I belive the commands are not available in version 12.2...

Other switches have different release, but all with the same family of 12.2.x I'm now reading @balaji.bandi suggestions.

Make sure syntax is correct - always use ? after each word, so IOS Guide you what syntax is correct.

Hello Balaji,

Ok i managed to look up fot the syntax and i noticed the error occours while adding the parameter "voice" into the command, since it is not recognized , as per shown here:

(config-if)#authentication event server dead action authorize ?
vlan Configure Critical Authorization VLAN
<cr>

If I'm right and following your step, I have to declare the voice vlan ID in order to perform the command. Could it be correct?

I then tried in other switched with same SW version and model, and it is the same output.

Authentication event server dead action authorize voice

BOTH same if you use vlan id of voice in first command.

When the server down the sw authz will use vlan id of voice.
