Hi,
So I have built a LAB setup with 2 core switches c3560 IOS12.2(55) connected to 4 distribution switches that are running HSRP for their subnets/vlans and they are connected to a few access switches.
I have a single connection from each core switch to the same ASA5505 IOS 9.2(4)
All core and dist switches are running OSPF in area 0.
Both core switches have a default route to the ASA.
HOW do I create redundancy in the core layer?
If core1 fails, the route from core2 should take over, but apparently it does not get propagated through the network . If core1 looses connection to the ASA, the core2 can still ping to the internet, but the rest of the network looses connection.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thx

What does ospf config look like?
do you have default info originate configured?

I agree that if we knew more about the configuration details we might be able to give better suggestions. But based on the information currently available it sounds like the switches have static default routes to the ASA. Have you considered running OSPF between the switches and the ASA and having the ASA generate the default route?
