Device Discovery Problem LMS Version 4.0

Hi,

I have installed the new version lms 4.0 (Windows 2008 - no R2 ) and I have a big problem regarding device discovery with this version

The devices are prepared for SNMPv2c and I start the discovery over the module CDP with seed devices and the right SNMP settings.

The devices are reachable but I can't find the new devices in the DCR.

In the status display I can see only Devices in the "Devices are updated in DCR" counter. Many devices are displayed with "localhost".

I use a public DNS Server for internet access only but I adjusted the lmshosts file on the local host for local use.

What can be the problem?

1. What kind of seed device are you using?

2. Did you verify if the snmp read/write credentials are correct?

3. Are you able to ping and snmpwalk to the device from the LMS server?

4. Go to Admin --> System --> Debug Settings --> Discovery Logging Configuration --> and select the follow modules:

• CSDiscovery Adapter
• Credentials Module
• Discovery Modules (All)
• System Module

5. Select Apply and re-run discovery job.

6. After completion, get the following logs:

• NMSRoot\log\CSDiscovery.log
  
• CSDiscovery-config.xml and system-config.xml from NMSRoot\conf\csdiscovery
